Kenya’s TVET Colleges Given 21 Days to Verify July/August 2026 Assessment Results

Kenya’s technical and vocational training institutions have been given 21 days to check the newly released July/August 2026 assessment results and flag any errors, the national TVET assessment council has announced.

In a notice dated October 20, 2026, the TVET Curriculum Development, Assessment and Certification Council (TVET CDACC) confirmed that the results had been officially released and could be accessed through its online portal. The review window opened on October 21 and runs for 21 days.

Who must act โ€” and how

The directive applies to technical training institutes, technical and vocational colleges, private colleges, vocational training centres and universities running Competency-Based Education and Training (CBET) programmes. Each institution is responsible for verifying its candidates’ results and raising any concerns through the prescribed channels within the deadline, so that mistakes can be corrected before the certification process moves ahead.

The council also issued a warning that affects students directly: candidates whose institutions still owe outstanding assessment fees will not be able to view their results on the portal until the arrears are fully settled. Arrangements for collecting certificates and results slips will be communicated at a later date.

Why the window matters

The review period is a key quality-control stage for Kenya’s large TVET sector, which trains hundreds of thousands of young people for trades and technical careers. Errors in names, units or grades can delay a graduate’s certification โ€” and with it, their entry into employment โ€” so the council is placing the onus on institutions to catch discrepancies early.

In the notice, signed by chief executive Prof. Kisu K. Mitaing’e, the council urged institutions to comply with the timelines and cooperate fully to safeguard the integrity of the assessment and certification process. For trainees, the message is simpler: check with your institution now, while corrections are still possible.
